Earlier this week, we uncovered Kawasaki's design trademark for a naked version of its 250cc single-cylinder Ninja RR Mono. It now looks like Kawasaki isn't the only Japanese manufacturer with a small-displacement naked model on the way.
Honda has registered a trademark on the design for a new motorcycle that appears to be a naked CBR300R or CBR250R. Registered with the European Union's Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market on Dec. 20, 2013, the design at first glance resembles the Honda CB500F, especially with its single headlight design.

By the looks of it this could be a variant model for the CBR300. If this is true we can possibly even see another model like a CBR300X even. And the model shown in this article will be the CBR300F. I guess Honda will be covering all ranges with in the line up just like the CBR500 with the CBR500R, CBR500X and CBR500F.
This looks almost identical to CBR500F the only few things that are different from what I can see is the upper mid fairings and slightly different shaped heel guards. some could even mistaken it for a cbr500f.

Wonder how long we'll have to wait before we see this a reality.

More than likely as a 2016 model year release. Note that in the OP it was described as a EU Design Trademark, which as we all know doesn't necessarily mean that such a model will be sold in North America. Europe gets models that we in NA don't, and vise versa. For example, in Europe you can buy either the Honda CRF250L Dual Sport or the CRF250M Motard... in the U.S. we only have the CRF250L.

I would of said this was going to be indian only if not for the EU patents, I do have a feeling though that the CB300F will be produced locally in India and then shipped over to Europe... Or I guess there is also the option of Thailand production alongside the 250s....
I'm pretty confident however that this is a direct response to the Kawi Z250...

Indian production of the CBR250R was nowhere near the same level of quality as the CBR250R's built in Thailand. Which would explain why Honda discontinued CBR250R/300R production in India. Too many problems, including poor frame welds, issues with brakes, and other problems with assembly/workmanship.
Last I heard, KTM has aborted plans to build their small displacement sport bikes in India due to quality issues and concerns, mainly with regards to poor workmanship.

Just what I was expecting to hear, didn't expect their quality of work to be raved about, but had a feeling it would come down to this.

they probably would have to invest in the training of the workers if they wanted to make it work
and in the end it might have been more worth it to just move production somewhere else with more skilled workers.

that is true, it's really all in the training and of course the follow up, more so the former. if they do it right there wont be an issue.

i think thats a big problem with moving manufacturing to asia - finding skilled workers.
and because their objective for moving to asia was to lower production costs - they dont really want to spend money to train the workers properly.

When you say "asia", I'm assuming you mean Asia Minor, which includes India.
Honda has had the majority of their motorcycle production and manufacturing in the Asian Pacific Rim for decades. The intent with building bikes in India was to have production physically closer to those markets in that part of the world, and to keep manufacturing costs low in order to ultimately meet a lower price point target for those markets. Unfortunately, the Indian built CBR250R's did not meet the same quality standards that Honda has come to expect.

I hope other bike makes have learned from this and make their approach and execution different
